Money doesn’t bring inner peace

Money  and power do not bring inner peace

Money and power are not bring you true happiness and inner peace. If you would like to develop calm mind you should know what is the cause of a calm mind and compassionate mind. Power and money do not develop your compassion.

The Dalai Lama has expressed that happiness comes from inner peace however money doesn’t bring true happiness. (“Dalai Lama renaissance”)  I agree with this statement. Happiness comes from inner peace; its means the mind should not stress and worry. When your mind is very clear and calm then you feel true happiness and peace. The most compassionate people are the happiest people in the world. For example, the Dalai Lama is a happiest person because he has developed unbiased compassion. The Dalai Lama said his personal experience of practicing love and compassion has brought him inner peace. The Dalai Lama is very famous in the world but he lives a very simple life.

Money does not bring real happiness, if money brought real happiness then the millionaires would be the happiest people in the world, but they are not. (“His Holiness the Dalai lama Our Future – Who is Responsible?”). People who have more money, worry more and have more anxiety because the more you have, the more you have to lose.  You seek many ways to protect what you have and this involves a lot of energy. At the end of the day you should reflect how your day has been every day and reflect if you are happy or not? You might find that you feel stressed and exhausted. This gives you the indication of what is real happiness. You might realise that money doesn’t bring happiness.

Power does not bring true happiness either. If power brings happiness, then the world leaders would be the happiest people in the world but they are not the happiest people in the world. These powerful people’s minds are not calm; they are full of anger, jealousy and greed. They might worry about losing power and might worry about losing their reputation.  The simple people are the most happy and peaceful people. Mahatma Gandhi and the Dalai Lama are the peaceful people and they aspired for peace in the modern world.

True happiness must come from your warm heart. Warm heart means a compassionate heart. The Dalai Lama stated that compassion is the key developing happiness. Whether compassion gives happiness to others or not is questionable, but compassion brings full happiness for the individual.
